| Keeping Active 2008Fitness Classes, seminars, free training sessions, and information about healthy eating are part of this annual fitness/health program. For five weeks - BFR offers a variety of FREE events for anyone interested in becoming more active and/or adding healthy aspects to their lives. Come join together with others from the area to become a healthier individual or family!! No Fee or Registration is required for any of the BFR programs. Some of the related programs have a fee. Inspire yourself or a Friend to Become More Active! Program DescriptionsDemonstration/Speakers Personal Training/Fitness Assessment- Get a group of up to 4 people or sign up as individuals for group personal training with a Certified Personal Trainer. Take simple fitness tests to see what your current fitness level is.Stability Ball & Free Weights- Learn how to properly use the stability ball and get some new ideas with the ball and free weights. Nutrition- Reading Labels and Portion Sizes- Nutrition information will be covered to give you a better understanding of how to read labels and also what does a portion size consist of. Think of questions to ask and join the group for some eating tips. Exercising over 60- This demo is for people over 60 who either want to get started working out or just update your current workout. We will be going over some new exercises and answering question. Keeping on Track with Exercise- Do you start exercise programs and find it hard to stick with them? If so this demo is a good start to figure out what to do when you get into an exercise rut or to get new ideas for exercise. Intro to the Fitness Center- Learn how to properly use machines and free weights to get the most out of your workout. Information about modifications for those with special needs will also be shared. Toddlers and Families Parent & Toddler Play - a variety of equipment will be provided for this informal play time between young children and their caregivers. This is also a great time to meet other parents and toddlers.Family Volleyball – Bring the whole family and enjoy recreational volleyball in the gym Family Dodgeball- Bring the whole family out for informal dodgeball play.Youth Events Open Dodgeball (K-7 grade) - Join the fun of informal dodgeball play in the gymnasium on Friday afternoon.Open Soccer MS/HS - Join the fun of informal soccer action on Wednesday evening. H.I.T- This class will combine strength, agility, and speed drills for youth and adults. Exercise Classes Strength & Flexibility - Senior Adults and those with exercise limitations will enjoy this gentle mix of strength training, stretching, flexibility training, and balance work. Much of the class is chair-based, too.All Star Aerobics- The popular mix of aerobics, pilates, and weight training offers a moderate intensity work-out. Water Exercise- Water based exercise offers core training, aerobic activity and balance work. Yoga Fit- Gain core strength and flexibility from this yoga-based fitness class. Class is modified for fitness levels. Aerobic Mix- Try out this updated class on Saturday morning that includes lots of aerobics plus weight training. H.I.T- This class will combine strength, agility, and speed drills to get you in better shape. Low Impact Aerobics & More- Cardio combined with strength training based in the chair. Similar to Strength & Flexibility class. On The Ball- Strength training and abdominal work done on the stability ball. Circuit Training- Class based in the fitness center with different workout each week. Cardio Sculpt- A high intensity class that combines floor work, plyometrics, step combos, and weight combos.
