Our leagues are recreational in nature, encouraging skill development and fun.  Both select/club teams and recreational teams make up the various divisions.  While the competition exists in our leagues, players benefit most from the quick action and development of team skills.

Bluffton Family Recreation (BFR) offers five or six-week/five game (with a tournament) seasons of indoor soccer for teams in U-8, U-10, U-12, U-15, U-18, competitive adult and adult recreational age groups.  Indoor soccer is a fast-paced continuous action game, played in a walled arena.  Our small sized (60' X 120') field with a professional turf surface is great for younger players as well as adult recreational players.  All divisions play 6 v 6.  Age cut-offs are determined by an AUGUST 1 date as per USSF.

Spectators may watch indoor games from the mezzanine area with bleacher seating.  An  area for those with a handicap or disability is available on the turf level.  No admission fee is charged for spectators.

bulletRegistration

All registration is by date of receipt of registration form and deposit or full payment.    In the case of an overfilled division, the first teams with application and payment will be placed in the scheduled time and an additional division may be added at a different time for the overflow teams.  Entries that are received after divisions have been filled may be considered, but not guaranteed.  Based on the number of teams in each division, dates and times are subject to change.  Due to the volume of contests scheduled, BFR does not encourage special scheduling requests from teams.  Please include enough players on your roster to prevent this situation.  In order to ensure a place in the league, teams are encouraged to pay registration fees early.

A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required with the registration form in order to be added to the league.

bulletNumber of Players and Roster Size

The number of players on the field for all age divisions is 6 per side. This number includes five field players and a goalkeeper. Only rostered players will be allowed to enter the playing area. The BFR recreational philosophy emphasizes participation by all team members.

The maximum roster size for all age divisions is 15.

bulletRule Highlights

The BFR indoor soccer arena offers a high quality-playing turf surface for indoor games. The playing surface is 60’ by 120’ and features a professional quality retaining wall with goal system and a turf playing surface. The soccer  arena is heated and well-lighted with elevated spectator seating.  The following equipment is required to play on this surface—there are no exceptions:

bulletShin guards completely covered by stockings are required for all age groups
bulletSmooth sole (tennis shoe or turf shoe) shoes, no cleats
bulletEach team will wear matching jerseys or T-shirts
bulletWatches and jewelry must be removed prior to the match

All games consist of two 25-minute halves of continuous play with warm-up available before game and at half time (not guaranteed).  All games are officiated by experienced, certified soccer referees.  A complete set of rules will be provided with your game schedule information or upon request. In general, FIFA rules of the game apply with indoor modifications.   See the complete rules above for more clarification.

BFR is a family recreation center whose programs emphasize lifetime fitness and fun. We do not tolerate foul or abusive language, un-sportsmanlike conduct or fighting in our facility. Players, coaches or fans who ignore these guidelines will be required to leave our facility and will not be invited back. The BFR Sports Coordinator and Scorekeepers will enforce these guidelines as necessary to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone who uses our facility.

**Reminder - On tournament days please keep your team in a "designated" area within the building or outside if the weather is nice.  There will be a lot of congestion with teams occupying the same space for a short period of time.  Be aware of joggers and walkers on the track and be mindful of programs running in the gym.  NO ONE is permitted to play in the gym or on the track in your down time.  Members may use the gym if it is open or individuals may pay a daily $5 fee to use the gym.  In addition, parking may be limited and you're encouraged to use the Bluffton Community Pool parking lot for overflow.  DO NOT park on the north side of Snider Rd. on DTR property!  Thanks in advance for your consideration!
