Bluffton Family Recreation (BFR) offers  five-week/five game seasons of indoor soccer for teams in U-8, U-10, U-12, U-15 (Middle School only), U-18, college/competitive adult and adult recreational (25+ years) age groups.  Indoor soccer is a fast-paced continuous action game, played in a walled arena.  Our small sized (60' X 120') field with a professional turf surface is great for younger players as well as adult recreational players.  All divisions play 6 v 6.  Age cut-offs are determined by an AUGUST 1 date.

Spectators may watch indoor games from the mezzanine area with bleacher seating.  A handicap area is available on the turf level.  No admission fee is charged for spectators.

bulletRegistration

All registration is by date of receipt of registration form and deposit or full payment.    In the case of an overfilled division, the first teams with application and payment will be placed in the scheduled time and an additional division may be added at a different time for the overflow teams.  Entries that are received after divisions have been filled may be considered, but not guaranteed.  Based on the number of teams in each division, dates and times are subject to change.  Due to the volume of contests scheduled, BFR does not encourage special scheduling requests from teams.  Please include enough players on your roster to prevent this situation.  In order to ensure a place in the league, teams are encouraged to pay registration fees early.

Cost per 5 week session:    U8    $335.00        U10 and older    $350.00

A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required with the registration form in order to be added to the league.

A Coaches meeting will be held prior to each session.  Schedules will be distributed at that meeting.  Teams will not be included on the schedule unless payment is received, this prevents problems with no-show teams once the session begins.

bulletNumber of Players and Roster Size

The number of players on the field for all age divisions is 6 per side. This number includes five field players and a goalkeeper. Only rostered players will be allowed to enter the playing area. The BFR recreational philosophy emphasizes participation by all team members.

The maximum roster size for U10- adult age divisions is 15.

The maximum roster size for U8 teams is 12.

bulletRule Highlights

The BFR indoor soccer arena offers a high quality-playing turf surface for indoor games. The playing surface is 60’ by 120’ and features a professional quality retaining wall with goal system and a turf playing surface. The soccer  arena is heated and well-lighted with elevated spectator seating.  The following equipment is required to play on this surface—there are no exceptions:

bulletShin guards completely covered by stockings are required for all age groups
bulletSmooth sole (tennis shoe or turf shoe) shoes, no cleats
bulletEach team will wear matching jerseys or T-shirts
bulletWatches and jewelry must be removed prior to the match

All games consist of two 25-minute halves of continuous play with a 5 minute warm-up and half time.  All games are officiated by experienced soccer referees.  A complete set of rules will be provided with your game schedule information. In general, FIFA rules of the game apply with certain indoor modifications.   See the complete rules for more clarification.

For example:

bulletThere is no offside
bulletThe ball is only out of play when it leaves the arena (touches the net or ceiling)
bulletFouls and rule infractions are accompanied by time penalties of 2 or 5 minutes or removal from game (red card)
bulletIf the ball strikes any part of the building structure, the team will play down one player for 2 minutes.

BFR is a family recreation center whose programs emphasize lifetime fitness and fun. We do not tolerate foul or abusive language, un-sportsmanlike conduct or fighting in our facility. Players, coaches or fans who ignore these guidelines will be required to leave our facility and will not be invited back.
